Today, we ventured out to Dujiangyan to see the world’s oldest non-dam irrigation system that is still in use, controlling the waters of the Minjiang River. According to UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), construction began in the 3rd century B.C.

There were also many ancient temples, palaces and other structures situated along the river including Fulong Temple, Anlan cable bridge, Qinyan Tower, Erwang Temple, and the Yulei Tower.
We had an amazing day exploring this historically rich site.
